A summer internship in investment banking runs nine or ten weeks at the banks whose careers sites we checked.
J.P. Morgan's Investment Banking Summer Analyst program lasts nine weeks, beginning with five days of orientation and classroom instruction before interns join a Coverage (Industry), Advisory or Capital Markets group. Evercore runs a 10-week Summer Apprenticeship Program and pairs each summer analyst and associate with a peer mentor and a senior banker. Rothschild & Co's London summer analyst programme runs 10 weeks from June 2027, and Piper Sandler's London summer analysts spend nine to ten weeks on a team. Piper Sandler's Spring Week is shorter: three days.

Investment banking internships at the banks whose careers sites we checked are for current university students, and each bank sets the year of study it takes.
Evercore recruits current undergraduates as analysts and current MBA students as associates. Rothschild & Co's London summer analyst programme is for students in their second or penultimate year of university who are on track for at least a 2:1 or equivalent. Piper Sandler's London Spring Week takes students in the first year of a three-year degree or the second year of a four-year degree.

At each bank whose careers site we checked, an investment banking internship can lead to a full-time analyst or graduate role, and each words it as a possibility, not a promise.
J.P. Morgan says high-performing summer analysts may receive an offer of continued employment at the end of the program. Rothschild & Co says its London summer analysts could be considered for a permanent role on its Graduate Programme. Piper Sandler says a London summer analyst position can lead to a full-time offer for the following year's analyst programme, and that its Spring Week may lead to a fast-track offer for a 2028 summer internship.
