The New York investment banking internships we checked come at two levels: summer analyst programs for undergraduates, and summer associate programs for MBA students between their first and second year.
RBC Capital Markets lists a 2027 Global Investment Banking Summer Analyst program in New York of 10 weeks. Rothschild & Co's US 2028 Global Advisory Summer Analyst takes undergraduates graduating no later than May 2029, and its New York summer analysts join a generalist program. Wells Fargo's 2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate Program, offered in New York among other cities, runs 10 weeks for MBA students between their first and second year.

At LionTree, RBC Capital Markets and Wells Fargo, each firm's own careers site says its summer interns can be considered for, or receive, a full-time offer.
LionTree says its New York summer analysts have the opportunity to receive full-time Analyst offers for a post-graduation start date. RBC Capital Markets calls its summer analyst placements, its New York investment banking program among them, extended evaluations in which students are considered for full-time employment. Wells Fargo calls its Summer Associate Program its primary pipeline for full-time hiring, and says top-performing summer associates may receive full-time offers at the end of the program.

Pay differs by firm and level: the New York postings we checked give an annual base rate of $110,000 to $120,000 for a summer analyst and $175,000 for a summer associate.
Rothschild & Co's US 2028 Global Advisory Summer Analyst posting gives an expected base salary of $110,000 to $120,000 a year in its New York office, pro-rated for the length of employment. Wells Fargo's 2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate Program posting gives $175,000 yearly for New York City, within a base pay range of $150,000 to $250,000. Since 1 November 2022, New York City has required a good-faith pay range in job advertisements for work performed in the city.
