We follow 77 firms for quant and hedge fund internships across the US, and 61 of them list a US intern role today, 195 roles in all.

IMC's Quantitative Trader Intern in Chicago is a 10-week trading internship of training and project work, and interns who meet its performance expectations can secure a full-time Graduate Trader position at the end. Akuna Capital's Quantitative Development & Strategy Intern is its 10-week Akunacademy internship program in Chicago. Hudson River Trading also runs shorter formats in New York, among them Inside HRT, a three-day program in the spring.

The US firms we checked take students in a quantitative or technical degree who graduate by mid-2028, about a year after the summer 2027 internship.
IMC's Quantitative Trader Intern takes students graduating between September 2027 and July 2028 in a field such as mathematics, physics, computer science or economics, and says previous knowledge of financial markets is not required. Akuna Capital's Quantitative Development & Strategy Intern takes bachelor's, master's and PhD students in a technical field who graduate by August 2028, with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Hudson River Trading's Inside HRT is for first- and second-year students, and it runs a separate Algorithm Development PhD Internship.
