Akuna runs two structured early-career tracks plus a short taster program:

• The Akunacademy summer internship, a 10-week program for students in their penultimate year, with placements across Technology, Trading and Quant; strong performers may receive full-time offers for after graduation
• The Sneak Peek Week, a one-week program run multiple times per year at the Chicago headquarters as an accelerated, hands-on introduction to the firm

Open positions are posted at Akuna's offices in Chicago, London, Sydney, Shanghai and Singapore. For a student earlier than penultimate year, the Sneak Peek Week is the only published entry route; everyone else converges on either the summer Akunacademy track or a full-time early-careers posting, so a candidate's year of study lines up against those two windows rather than a single graduate scheme.

It began as an idea in Sydney, opened its Chicago headquarters in 2011, and has since added offices in Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore and London – five offices, no US presence outside Chicago.
