EDF Trading's graduates and interns page links two London programmes, each with its own firm-published sheet:

• Commercial Graduate Programme: 24 months, four six-month rotations at the London headquarters in Victoria, September start, for candidates in their final year of studies
• Summer Internship Programme: ten weeks from early July, paid, for candidates in their penultimate year, with a possible route into the graduate programme

Graduate rotations are typically offered across energy commodities trading, market risk, analytics, quantitative risk and origination, and internship teams include power trading, gas trading and systematic trading as well. Each route is open to one year of study, so a student has one live application to this firm at a time, and the internship is the earlier of the two ways into the graduate programme.

The Commercial Graduate Programme sheet and the Summer Internship Programme sheet each list "right to work in the UK" as an eligibility requirement alongside year of study, and neither mentions visa sponsorship; an earlier internship advert hosted on a university careers board set the same condition. A candidate who would need a visa to start has no published sponsorship route to rely on, so UK work authorisation is the first thing to check before spending an application on either programme.

Its two-year Commercial Graduate Programme offers rotation placements typically across market risk, analytics and quantitative risk as well as energy commodities trading and origination, and the firm presents the rotations as a way to identify "where your strengths and interests lie". The sheet lists junior trader, analyst and market risk roles among previous graduates' next steps, so an applicant is applying for a spread of functions, with the specialism following the rotations, and not for one named desk.
