Man Group

The first three stages are remote and self-paced; only the final stage is in person. With the firm headquartered in London, non-London candidates need to budget the final round as a travel day, while the earlier remote screens fit around other applications running at the same time.

Man Group's graduate-programmes page lists seven graduate tracks and five summer internships, each tied to a specific function:

• Graduate tracks (18–24-month rotations): AHL IDI, AHL Quant Talent, Accountancy & Tax, Central Trading, Operations, Solutions, and Technology Foundation
• Summer internships (12 weeks): AHL IDI, AHL Quant, Accountancy & Tax, the cross-business Summer Internship Programme, and Technology

Graduates are supported through CFA, IMC or ACCA qualifications on programme, and strong interns may be offered places on the graduate scheme. The firm also runs an apprenticeship route and a six-month Career Returners programme for people returning to work after a 24+ month break. Applicants pick a single named track up front, so the function decision – quant versus discretionary trading, technology versus operations – is made at application time rather than during the rotation.

It runs two named systematic managers – Man AHL, founded in 1987 and one of the oldest continuously running systematic trend-following businesses, and Man Numeric – alongside its discretionary and credit businesses. Two of the firm's named graduate tracks (AHL Quant Talent, AHL IDI) and two of its summer internships sit inside AHL, and the firm also funds the Oxford–Man Institute of Quantitative Finance at the University of Oxford. Selection therefore skews heavily quantitative – strong mathematical, statistical or programming backgrounds sit at the centre of AHL's stated criteria – and the named AHL tracks are the right entry point if that is the work being sought.
