Schonfeld lists three student programs:

• Sophomore Internship: 10 weeks, for second-year undergraduates curious about investment management
• Summer Internship Program: 10 weeks, for rising seniors and Master's students embedded as team members
• Quantitative Research Internship: aimed at students on a PhD track in quantitative fields, working on alpha research and back-testing

There is no separate standing graduate analyst scheme advertised; the summer cohort is the firm's primary feeder into full-time seats. Currently posted on Schonfeld's job board are 2026 LATAM analyst and quant research internships in São Paulo and a 2027 Summer Internship expression-of-interest open across Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Miami and New York. Because the firm runs as a multi-manager – interns are embedded with a specific team rather than rotated across a cohort programme – desk and strategy fit drives the application choice as much as the firm name does.

The firm was founded in 1988 by Steven Schonfeld as a proprietary trading business and opened to external capital around its 2016 SEC registration, with offices now in New York (HQ at 590 Madison), Miami, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai and São Paulo. Unusually for a multi-manager, Schonfeld also allocates to a sizeable book of external partner funds alongside its internal pods. For a junior, the practical consequence is a pod-and-platform model that sits between the fully-internal multi-managers (Citadel, Millennium) and a single-strategy boutique – strategy and team selection are the real choice, not just the firm.
