Squarepoint runs two early-career streams, set out on its early-careers page:

• Investment internships – a path toward Quant Researcher or Trader roles, usually offered to penultimate-year students in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in mathematics, physics, statistics, machine learning, mathematical finance, or engineering.
• Technology internships – working alongside the firm's engineers on its research and trading systems, typically for penultimate-year computer science or computer engineering students.

Internships run a flexible 2–6 months, tailored to a student's availability and academic schedule. Full-time entry-level roles sit in the same two divisions: Investment (Junior Quant Researcher, Junior Discretionary Trader, Desk Quant Analyst) and Technology (Graduate Software Developer, Graduate Support Specialist, Junior Platform Specialist). Because the internship is pitched as the route into these full-time seats and its length flexes from two to six months, it functions less like a fixed summer block than an extended audition that can be scheduled around term time – something to plan against the rigid summer windows other firms impose.

It runs a systematic platform diversified across multiple asset classes, trading frequencies, and global markets, executing millions of trades a day, with combined expertise across quantitative investment, technology, and trading operations. The firm is led by its four founding partners across seventeen cities and, per independent reporting, employs roughly 1,500 people. That breadth means early-career intake spans both investment and engineering tracks across many locations rather than a single flagship program, so which division and which city you target can matter as much as the firm name when you decide where to spend a limited number of applications.
