Job Summary

The EMEA Power & Utilities Team is part of the Global EIG business line, responsible for implementing the EIG strategy for projects within the EMEA regions. The PF strategy focuses on providing structured finance solutions for clients, core prospects, and specifically approved niche markets. Our product range includes senior secured limited recourse financings, industry sector acquisition financing, portfolio financing, structured asset financing, subordinated debt, and equity. We cover the Power, Utilities, and Renewables sectors, with advisory being a particular focus of the business line. All transactions are handled by a deal-team reporting to a Director or VP.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves contributing to core deal-team functions:

  • Participation in origination, analysis (including assessment of economic rationale, contract terms, risk allocation, and mitigation factors), negotiation, internal approval processes, documentation, and closing.
  • Carrying out junior functions within deal teams, typically encompassing financial analysis, financial modeling, and preparation of pitches and credit applications.
  • Taking responsibility for specific segments of a transaction as delegated by the team leader.
  • Coordinating financial modeling aspects for project financings, including creating and running financial models or assisting in such.
  • Participating in marketing efforts and sectorial research, alongside other commercial or administrative duties as assigned, focused on material preparation.
  • Assisting with internal reporting requirements and sector presentations.

Candidate Criteria

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimal education level: Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Prior experience: 0-1 years, including internships.
  • Familiarity with Project Finance.
  • Experience in risk analysis and cash flow modeling.
  • Prior internship experience in a similar position is required.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with people at all levels.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel software and competence in Visual Basic commands applicable to project finance models.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical research, and modeling capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written English skills.
