Job Summary: The New York City Coverage Team is seeking a college undergraduate to assist Managing Directors/Senior Bankers in handling client relationships. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, can work well under pressure, manages multiple assignments, shows resourcefulness and independence, maintains a professional demeanor and strong work ethic, and has strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The preferred candidate also has a strong understanding of corporate finance and key accounting fundamentals, including financial statement analysis and modeling, as well as valuation methodologies. The Summer Analyst program provides tools for professional growth and aims to develop the right candidate into a U.S. Analyst – Coverage Analyst position upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with relationship managers and junior bankers to organize external and internal client and senior management presentation materials.
• Conduct financial analysis of current and prospective clients related to capital structure, creditworthiness, and financial performance to help identify future business opportunities.
• Coordinate internal approvals of transactions related to syndicated debt, bonds, securitization, trade finance, interest rate derivatives, and other products within the CA-CIB global platform.
• Analyze the benefit of entering, maintaining, or exiting global client transactions.

Candidate Criteria

Minimum Qualifications

• College student in the penultimate year of study pursuing a degree in Finance/business or a related field.
• Eligible to work in the US.
• No visa sponsorship required now or in the future (including F1, OPT, CPT, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial statement analysis.
• Some financial modeling skills.
• Developed oral and written presentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of major computer applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (experience using the Bloomberg terminal is a plus).
• Basic grasp of risk/return analysis concepts and tools.
