Program overview

Jefferies’ Investment Banking Summer Analyst Program provides Summer Analysts with the opportunity to gain experience across a broad array of investment banking products and industries, and to develop lasting personal and professional relationships with peers and senior bankers. The lean deal team structure allows Summer Analysts to play an important role, working closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals. In addition to performing fundamental analysis and research into companies and markets, interns are encouraged to think creatively, offer input, and add value to the team from day one. Summer Analysts are expected to pursue their projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and the highest levels of integrity. The program emphasizes real-life on-the-job learning, with colleagues serving as instructors and mentors. Each Summer Analyst will have the opportunity to review their professional development and receive detailed feedback over the course of the 10-week program. Students in their penultimate year of university with an anticipated graduation date of October 2027 – June 2028 may apply for our Summer Analyst Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses
• Build and maintain financial models
• Assist in the preparation of pitchbooks and live deal materials, such as offering memorandums and prospectuses
• Conduct industry and product research
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information
• Participate in the execution of financings and M&A transactions

What we look for in a candidate

• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Opportunity to work on projects in Southeast Asia as well as greater China
• Professionalism and client management skills, along with strong technical, written, and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
• Adaptability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong academic background with a minimum 3.6 GPA (or equivalent) and in your penultimate year (second year of a three-year degree, or third year of a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• While a background in accounting or finance is helpful, interns with diverse academic disciplines are hired
• Asian language skills are a plus
• For our Singapore opportunity, candidates must hold a valid work permit or be a Singapore citizen; fluency in a Southeast Asia language (spoken and written) is ideal

Investment Banking — Singapore

The Jefferies Singapore Investment Banking team focuses on origination and execution of equity and M&A transactions for Southeast Asian clients. Our business in Southeast Asia and Asia has strong deal momentum, and we leverage this to participate in M&A, initial public offerings, and equity fundraises, as well as cross-border financing across sectors in the region. We have recently added experienced sector and coverage senior bankers to grow our franchise in Asia. The team works closely with colleagues in New York, London, and other regional offices as one global team on cross-border transactions. Leveraging Jefferies’ global resources and network, the Singapore platform is well positioned to capitalize on the growth of Southeast Asia and Asian economies.
