About the Sustainable Investment Banking Division

The Sustainable Investment Banking team advises Crédit Agricole CIB clients and business lines on environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainable finance matters. The team leads sustainable transactions across investment banking products, including bonds, loans and supply chain finance, working closely with originators, syndicate and sales teams.

The team is part of Investment Banking Coverage and collaborates closely with product teams, including Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance and Loan Syndications.

Job Summary

The Summer Analyst will support senior Sustainable Investment Banking bankers in structuring sustainable finance transactions and preparing client pitches. The role is suited to a resourceful, analytical professional with a strong interest in the intersection of sustainability and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pitches focused on ESG materiality and climate scenario models across various corporate sectors and sovereign clients.
  • Own ESG market update materials and maintain client pipeline tracking.
  • Develop tailored client materials using ESG disclosures, industry benchmarks such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), and the level of ambition associated with use-of-proceeds frameworks or key performance indicators for sustainable finance transactions.
  • Structure and execute mandates in partnership with the relevant business lines.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge of the sustainable finance market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College student in the penultimate year of study, pursuing a degree in environmental science, sustainability, environmental engineering, chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 and spring 2028.
  • Minimum preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale from a top-tier educational institution.
  • Strong demonstrated interest in and knowledge of sustainability through coursework and extracurricular activities. This knowledge will be assessed during the interview process.
  • Applicants with only finance or economics backgrounds and no demonstrated sustainability experience will not be considered.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong communication and quantitative skills, with an interest in both sustainability and finance.
  • Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future, including F-1, OPT or CPT authorization.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Dual major, minor or degree in finance, economics, business or a related field.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical-thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Resourcefulness, adaptability, flexibility and resilience.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative, start-up-like environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with the Bloomberg Terminal is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior professionals and stakeholders across other lines of business.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to contribute proactively in an evolving work environment.
