Purpose of the Role
Participate in the day-to-day activities of the Markets division, providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making; prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings; collaborate with senior management to implement findings across the global markets division.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support the deployment and launch of new products and services for the global markets division.
- Manage client relationships and provide customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision—responding to product and service questions and processing transactions.
- Support the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that inform decision-making within the global markets division.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues.

Who We’re Looking For
To be considered, you must be in your penultimate or final year of your degree, in any discipline.
Ideally, you have a keen interest in business or finance with curiosity to learn. We value resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit, which may be demonstrated through extracurricular involvement.
Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria. Successful applicants who are not eligible for a skilled worker visa—and therefore cannot be supported with one—will be required to have their own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2027 to August 2027.
