Private Banking & Wealth Management Executive
Location: London
Purpose
Support and assist Relationship Managers in acquiring, onboarding, servicing and retaining clients to deliver overall business goals, including managing complex client situations.
Where required, liaise directly with clients regarding complex requests relating to banking and servicing requirements, including onboarding, banking transactions, investments, credit and digital solutions.
Work closely with Operations and other support functions to deliver positive outcomes for clients.
Role Overview
As a Barclays Private Banking & Wealth Management Executive, you will assist Private Bankers and Wealth Managers in acquiring, servicing and retaining clients to deliver overall business objectives. You will become a key point of contact for clients regarding day-to-day operational matters, assist with marketing products to clients, and support the Pod, team and wider business in delivering its targets and goals.
Accountabilities
- Establish strong client and internal relationships alongside Relationship Managers to ensure consistently high-quality service.
- Manage all aspects of client servicing and service engagement plans, including leading client service review visits to support and improve the client experience.
- Develop relationships with other areas of the bank and share responsibility with internal colleagues for the end-to-end client experience, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Act as the point of contact for new account queries and complex servicing requests, liaising between relationship teams and support or specialist teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, internal policies and procedures, and support Relationship Managers with risk-related activities.
- Assist the Private Banker or Wealth Manager with the day-to-day administration and management of client relationships, including payments, banking enquiries, meeting attendance, note-taking, file notes, letters, other documentation and annual client reviews. All work is overseen and signed off by the Private Banker or Wealth Manager.
- Respond to client requests in a timely and professional manner, owning task execution end to end and working proactively with Operations, Business Management and other stakeholders to resolve issues and reduce or eliminate errors.
- Take responsibility for remediation activities and administrative or governance tasks required by client or business activity, where appropriate.
- Participate in team projects and contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Experience and Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of banking, operational procedures, risk management, lending and security requirements.
- Experience managing client relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders.
- Relevant client-facing experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management or a similar role.
- Experience preparing for client-facing meetings relating to banking propositions, investments and annual reviews.
- Demonstrated integrity and adherence to regulatory policies and procedures, with an understanding of financial services risk and control procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in administrative tasks and client communications.
- Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to engage across a broad client demographic.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and internal teams across different cultures and backgrounds.
- Additional language skills may be required for some Private Banking Executive roles.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- Good overall knowledge of Barclays Private Bank or Barclays Wealth information systems.
- Understanding of the regulatory framework.
- Up-to-date understanding of financial market dynamics and current financial concepts.
- Strong aptitude for and understanding of the digital landscape, with the ability to support clients’ changing needs in this area.
- Adaptability and resilience when managing multiple priorities and changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Initiative and the ability to solve problems independently, with appropriate escalation where required.
