Summer Cybersecurity Internship – Bank of America

We’re looking for penultimate year undergraduate or master’s students seeking a summer internship with the potential for 2028 full-time conversion. Eligible majors include Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related fields. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative and analytical skills, effective verbal and written communication, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. A keen interest in cybersecurity, familiarity with security tools, and an understanding of regulatory risk management are desirable.

What you’ll need

• Major in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related area
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Comfort with change and ability to adapt to evolving demands
• Strong team player and client-focused approach
• Energy, drive, and a demonstrated passion for cybersecurity
• Good understanding of security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and patch management systems (advantage)
• Understanding of regulatory landscape and risk management (advantage, not mandatory)

Global Information Security is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Bank of America’s client data, information systems, and assets. The team designs cyber-security solutions to prevent unauthorized access and to detect cyber threats and incidents. While other teams build and maintain applications, this group focuses on protecting them.

What you’ll do

• Provide analytical, strategic, and technical skills to design, develop, implement, and use state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions to reduce risk
• Deliver innovative capabilities in a team environment, leveraging your background and interests for a specific group within Global Information Security
• Respond to, research, measure, detect, and mitigate security attacks targeting network and application layers
• Work on problems of moderate scope, analyzing situations or data with identifiable factors

Program Overview

Our Summer program is a 10-week experience tailored to your interests, development opportunities, and current business needs. Analyst positions support teams working on the latest technology and emerging trends. The program begins with orientation and firm-wide induction. You will have access to on-the-job support, opportunities to connect with senior leaders, and networking and development events. Summer Analysts gain a true associate experience, with assignments mirroring full-time responsibility and including goal-setting and a formal review process.
