Department / Section
The UK & Ireland Corporate Coverage team is responsible for managing corporate relationships, generating cross sell in conjunction with product teams, managing the portfolio and performing associated tasks. The team provides industry focus and client coverage across key geographies. Industry coverage for this role spans General Industries, Healthcare, and Consumer & Retail.

Main Purpose of the Role
To provide support to enable effective business promotion and management of existing and prospective client relationships within the UK & Ireland team.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities involve, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide transaction and marketing support in connection with the delivery of corporate and investment banking products to meet pre-identified and new customer needs
- Prepare pitch books, account plans, briefing notes, deal screening submissions, business rationales for credit applications and internal reports; ensure the highest level of quality content
- Maintain and manage external relationships independently (where appropriate)
- Prepare call reports and pursue meeting follow-ups
- Interact regularly with product offices, risk and compliance departments
- Liaise and negotiate legal documentation with clients, in coordination with and guidance from the relationship managers
- Actively liaise with local and regional teams to relay, drive and follow up on opportunities for the client base in MUFG’s international network
- Support various local and regional teams across the global MUFG network related to approvals, support memos and general business opportunities for clients
- Lead the preparation and submission of credit applications from a business promotion point of view, including liquidity applications, compliance documentation / KYC, and overall quality control
- Diligently update client records on bank systems and liaise with middle and back office to ensure this is done
- From time to time, the Analyst may be asked to work on initiatives relevant to the Corporate coverage business where appropriate
- Assist in delivering management information reports and general projects as they arise as directed by management
Work Experience
Essential:
- Basic banking knowledge

- Time spent in a coverage role
- Some evidence of transaction experience useful
Skills and Experience
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Essential
- Must be numerate
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred:
- Understanding of credit/risk assessment
- Understanding of relevant product areas (loans, bonds, derivatives, working capital solutions, cash management)
