Program Overview
Wells Fargo Commercial Banking provides market-leading solutions, industry expertise, and insights to help enable our clients' growth and success, enhancing the communities we serve.
The summer internship is a structured 10-week program designed to provide undergraduate students with a basic understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths through hands-on experience. Interns will work with an experienced team within one of our Commercial Banking businesses where they will gain exposure to Wells Fargo’s operations, business strategies, and culture.
During the summer, we focus on development to prepare interns for the next career step after completing the program. You will gain insight into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, as well as opportunities for professional development, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training in line of business-specific concepts.

In this role you will
- Participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and initiatives within the internship program.
- Complete numerous assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for low-to-medium complex tasks and deliverables.
- Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
- Partner with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that drive client outcomes.
- Receive direction from a manager and exercise independent judgment while developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area.
- Prioritize work, apply attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Program Duration
10 weeks, June–August 2027 (exact dates TBD and subject to change).

Required Qualifications, US
- 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
Desired Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (all majors welcome), with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills
- Involvement in extracurricular activities (volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad, leadership roles, non-profit involvement)
- Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere
- Energetic self-starter with initiative, urgency, curiosity, and a growth mindset
- Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales
- Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., chat-based assistants, Microsoft Copilot) and a strong interest in using these tools responsibly
Program Location
New York, NY
Offers are made for a specific office location based on candidate preference and business needs. Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement prior to the program start.
Pay Range
New York, NY: $43.27 per hour. Base pay range may vary by location, experience, and other factors. Employees may be eligible for incentive opportunities.
