Role

We are seeking a Credit Analyst to support Credit Administration for the Wholesale Bank (CDA) and handle credit coverage for clients in the General Industries segment (Tech/Media/Telecom, Financial Institutions). You will prepare detailed credit analyses and the required credit applications, evaluating corporate, regulatory and industry risk, historical and projected operating performance, and capital structure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence and regularly scheduled evaluation of a corporate loan portfolio.
  • Coordinate and communicate account information across various constituencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of country/risk factors, particular industries, and current events in the assigned portfolio.
  • Oversee covenants compliance database and facility closing due diligence, including documentation.

Advanced Credit / Underwriting Solutions

  • Prescreen proposed transactions to identify critical structural issues and risks, balancing institutional policy with business objectives.
  • Work on structured credit transactions (including Financial Solution opportunities, securitizations, supply chain finance, and leasing transactions).

Policy and Deal Advocacy

  • Support the Senior Credit Officer, communicate with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to solve problems and ensure transaction requests are acceptable within the firm’s risk appetite.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policy and procedural requirements by understanding and adhering to USWB Operating Procedures, General Credit Policies for the Americas (GCP), Procedures for Credit Ratings and Credit Rules for BTMU Overseas Offices.

The right candidate will have

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience within a financial institution (analyzing corporate clients' risk and credit profiles), an accounting firm, or a rating agency
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; pursuit of CFA is an asset
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Experience analyzing corporate credit and financing transactions
  • Completion of a formal credit-training program at a money center bank is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role is between $89,000 and $102,000, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The role may be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
