Analyst/ Associate - Equity Research, IT Hardware & Technology Supply Chain

Job Description

This role is responsible for assisting with the recommendation process regarding the buying, selling, or holding of financial securities, as well as studying the role of government in the economy. Key responsibilities include performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, preparing reports, and helping to originate, structure, and model transactions, alongside assessing market trends. Job expectations may involve rotating through specific product areas or sectors to gain broader business exposure.

The IT Hardware and Technology Supply Chain Research team covers 27 stocks (and growing) with high trading volume, strong investor interest, and significant opportunities for new coverage. The team seeks an individual capable of connecting macro themes and megatrends within a constantly evolving technology landscape, presenting them in concise written research featuring actionable investment ideas across our covered universe.

The ideal candidate should possess three to four years of experience in markets, with a specific focus on the technology sector. This candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst and team members on all aspects of the investment process, from initial idea generation to company meetings, playing a critical role in providing financial modeling and qualitative analysis to formulate investment opinions.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial modeling and valuation work.
• Regularly write industry and company reports and initiate coverage from scratch.
• Analyze data using market research databases.
• Respond to research inquiries from institutional investor clients during market hours.
• Interview industry experts concerning covered companies and industries.
• Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies.
• Participate and contribute to industry conferences and events.
• Closely follow and understand stock market, industry, and company-specific activity, relaying critical updates to analysts when they are traveling.
• Seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment research capabilities.
• Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes.
• Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and sound business judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience; progress toward a CFA or other relevant professional certifications is a plus. Preference is given to candidates with an EE Engineering background.
• 1-3+ years of relevant experience focusing in equity research, buy-side experience, or investment banking.
• Strong writing and modeling skills, specifically in constructing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in Excel.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense professional environment.
• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must handle time-sensitive tasks effectively, such as drafting earnings reports and responding to client requests.
• Must enjoy following the stock market and conducting both desktop and field research.
• In addition to strong Finance and Accounting skills, a basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics is required.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Must work well within a collaborative team environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $225,000.00 annualized salary. Offers will be determined based on experience, education, and skill set.

Incentive Eligibility: Discretionary incentive eligible. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan, which is based on individual performance, the performance of the line of business/group, and overall Company success.
