Amazon Shipping Inventory Planner

Amazon Shipping is seeking an analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Inventory Planner to drive innovation and execution within transportation networks. As a member of the EU Amazon Shipping team, you will be responsible for optimizing the transportation and delivery network to align with the strategic network plan.

You will be part of the core team designing, building, and implementing a shipping network designed to exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves leading key Capacity integration programs, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing all aspects of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) function, including demand and capacity forecasting, execution, software design, and driving process improvements.

As an Inventory Planner, you will help Amazon Shipping manage, improve, and optimize how parcels are shipped from our shippers and delivered to our customers.

The successful candidate is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, possesses strong attention to detail, and enjoys managing large datasets, all while having a passion for logistics and customer experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Building strategic plans to fulfill customer demand in the most cost-efficient manner.
• Collaborating with operational stakeholders to drive execution against established plans.
• Leading daily, weekly, and monthly operational cycles with business and operational stakeholders, including onboarding strategic shippers.
• Identifying shortfalls and directing appropriate closure actions within the supply chain.
• Driving forecasting accuracy for the first-mile supply chain by working with local in-country business and operational teams.
• Providing actionable insights into current forecasting issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Leading end-to-end planning for key events such as Prime Day or other peak initiatives.
• Supporting network expansion by analyzing optimal locations and timelines for growth.
• Partnering with business teams to define requirements and high-level process and system solutions.
• Driving the standardization of tools and processes to build scalable execution plans alongside the operations team.
• As part of the EU planning standardization team, leading tool adoption and sharing best practices across the UK and Italy.
• Managing timelines with partner teams to support project launches and drive continuous improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in project management, or advanced proficiency in Excel and statistical analysis applications.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems, or equivalent.
• Experience in business analysis and functional roles requiring quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or other BI packages.
