About the Role

AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) is seeking a motivated Transportation Management Intern to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will manage daily shipment allocation decisions based on cost and business needs and lead a transportation research project.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Shipment Booking and Mode Selection: Own day-to-day shipment booking decisions by selecting the transportation mode and service level that best meet each shipment’s business needs. Balance cost, speed, reliability, and delivery requirements to make sound trade-off decisions and route shipments efficiently under real operational constraints.
• Transportation Infrastructure Research: Lead a transportation infrastructure research project that maps current capabilities, constraints, and opportunities across the network. Produce analysis and recommendations that leadership can use to influence future supply chain decisions.
• Cost and Service-Level Optimization: Analyze the cost and service-level trade-offs behind transportation decisions. Identify patterns and opportunities to improve mode and service-level selection, and translate findings into practical guidance aligned with business priorities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Input: Gather input from stakeholders across all levels of the organization to ensure booking decisions and research recommendations reflect how the business operates. Build feedback loops and review mechanisms so insights remain accurate and useful.

A Day in the Life

No two days look the same, but every day has a rhythm. Your morning may begin by reviewing the day’s shipment bookings, weighing cost against delivery requirements, and selecting the appropriate transportation mode and service level. You may then meet with internal stakeholders to align on the direction of your transportation infrastructure research and the decisions it should inform.

You may also work with external carriers or logistics partners to understand how the network operates, including available capacity, constraints, and transportation costs.

After lunch, you may meet with your assigned mentor to connect your daily booking decisions and research project to the broader AWS cloud computing infrastructure and global supply chain. The afternoon may involve analyzing shipment and cost data, mapping lanes and modes, or drafting analysis to inform future transportation decisions.

Throughout the internship, you will work with teams across functions and geographies to learn how the end-to-end supply chain operates and how AWS services support it. You will also have regular check-ins with your manager to review progress, address blockers, and discuss development goals.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or higher, graduating between August 2027 and August 2028.
• Interest in and background in business intelligence and data analytics.
• Excellent business and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to legally work in Singapore.
• Ability to commit to a full-time internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building reports or visualizations using QuickSight.
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL.
• Experience using Excel as the primary presentation tool for data sets.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
• Passion for experiencing new technologies, cultures, and locations around the world.
