Responsibilities by Stream

Business Implementation & Change Management (BICM) Intern

  • Coordinate new client onboarding end-to-end for Singapore Branch services.
  • Coordinate transitions for existing clients (e.g., fund launches, terminations, restructuring).
  • Maintain and build a strong client service culture for all projects.
  • Deepen relationships with stakeholders and clients, and proactively manage issues related to requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Independently promote continuous improvement of onboarding, off-boarding, and transitions documentation, procedures, and systems.
  • Assist in end-to-end coordination of client onboarding and transition activities from initiation to GO-LIVE.
  • Support transparent and appropriate communication and documentation to and from stakeholders throughout onboarding and transitions.
  • Assist in establishing project governance with internal business units for coordination, planning, and tracking.
  • Support regular strategic client meetings; document timelines, deliverables, requirements, key dependencies, track progress to closure, and escalate where necessary.
  • Assist in completing documentation for implementation sign-off, audit, and controls.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Client Delivery, Client Development, Sales, and Relationship Managers) to manage pipeline, resourcing, and project handovers.

CoS & CAO Office Intern

  • Work closely with Chief of Staff (CoS) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to support key activities, including:
    • Support CoS in gathering market inputs from location sales leads and operational inputs from Client Delivery, plus updates from business partners.
    • Prepare materials for monthly location updates.
    • Gather inputs from the management team and prepare materials for management reporting.
    • Prepare ad-hoc strategy decks.
    • Organize ad-hoc events (e.g., town halls).
  • Operational KPIs:
    • Support a project on Operational KPIs and organize results into a dashboard.
    • Synthesize key takeaways/opportunities from the data to support project reviews and management updates.
  • Risk Management:
    • Provide value-added support on governance, Conduct, and control elements to assess and mitigate operational risks and improve quality.
  • MarComm & People’s Campaign Support:
    • Analyze key metrics to strategize initiatives to improve workplace culture.
    • Initiate and drive campaigns to support people’s agenda.

Client Reporting Intern

  • Manage the end-to-end process to produce client reports for institutional clients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in line with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve data anomalies impacting report accuracy and timeliness.
  • Resolve client queries related to reporting issues and respond to ad-hoc client requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review daily reports and month-end funds in accordance with applicable industry accounting practices, accounting standards, or specific constitutional documents, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of reports and NAVs.
  • Work with internal teams to close gaps, improve processes, and update internal procedures for changes.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of client reporting requirements.
  • Support other ad-hoc activities as required.

Financial Reporting Intern

  • Perform analytical reviews for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support and work with the accounting reporting system through strong computing knowledge (design and development).
  • Support tax matters by developing an understanding of the Singapore mutual funds tax regime.
  • Support consolidation work through strong accounting knowledge in consolidation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Fund Accounting Intern

  • Support day-to-day fund administration operations performed by the Singapore office for domestic funds/portfolios managed in Asia.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly NAVs for funds/portfolios in line with applicable industry accounting practices, accounting standards, and/or constitutional documents.
  • Work with fund/portfolio accountants and liaise with support functions to ensure NAVs are delivered on time to meet agreed KPIs.
  • Provide accurate statistical data (KPIs, etc.) on an as-scheduled basis to support service excellence.
  • Ensure NAV calculations are accurate and in line with BNP Paribas operational and system procedural manuals.
  • Proactively work with clients to resolve fund administration queries and action points.
  • Work under tight deadlines with clients and auditors to meet client-specific reporting requirements.
  • Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings.
  • Prepare operational and system procedural manuals to keep operational risks under control for day-to-day activities.
  • Report and escalate operational or major incidents, including breaches or errors, to management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hedge Fund Services Intern

  • As part of the Fund Accounting team, support the overall production of Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) for single manager and fund of hedge fund clients in accordance with Liquid Alternatives – HFS client service level documents.
  • Support NAV delivery on schedules that may be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on client requirements.
  • Independently reconcile, review, and report on trades, positions, cash, and prices, controls general ledger postings, and the final NAV review sign-off process.
  • Review fund NAVs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, including:
    • Review fund transactions (e.g., security trading, investor activity).
    • Ensure income accruals and corporate actions are accounted for and validated.
    • Review foreign exchange contracts.
    • Review price movements, including stale/static pricing.
    • Follow client-agreed NAV delivery deadlines.
    • Perform NAV impact analysis and justification.
  • Adhere to internal procedures, SOC 1 Type II requirements, and Liquid Alternatives – HFS best practices and policy.
  • Monitor cash and security reconciliation items daily.
  • Ensure agreed reporting is completed and sent to clients.
  • Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings.
  • Assist with month-end processes for client delivery.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are applied across all funds, with deliverables met in a timely manner.
  • Ensure auditor/trustee information requests are available within agreed timeframes with your Team Leader.
  • Assist team members with queries as they arise and inform the Team Leader where necessary.
  • Support the development of fund accounting processes and systems to meet future market and client developments.
  • Understand fund operating documents, prospectus, pricing policy, and agreements.
  • Perform relevant risk migration controls, including authentication checks and vigilance screening for manual instructions where required by bank policy and applicable local regulations.
  • Maintain AML/CFT risk awareness and complete mandatory training to understand relevant Group policies (including but not limited to financial security-related matters), escalating any irregularities where necessary.
  • Risk and Compliance:
    • Support compliance with regulations, market infrastructure evolution, and BNP Paribas internal control rules, and meet compliance and regulatory obligations.

    • Adhere to the Code of Conduct when interacting with clients and providers.

Investment Compliance Intern

  • Support the Performance & Compliance client delivery team by monitoring rules within client IMAs and assisting with daily operational tasks.
  • Interact with clients and investment managers regarding IMA monitoring to ensure quality service delivery by responding to client queries, resolving issues, and participating in client service meetings and reviews.
  • Support IMA monitoring and related activities, including Substantial Shareholder, Exposure, and derivatives monitoring.
  • Participate in and support the delivery of investment compliance monitoring services to BNP Paribas Australian clients.
