What You Can Expect

Jefferies Summer Analysts have the opportunity to gain insight into a global, client-focused investment bank and experience an entrepreneurial environment where employees can make an immediate impact and are rewarded for performance. Summer Analysts are exposed to Jefferies’ full range of products and leading industry expertise.

Following an orientation and training program, Summer Analysts begin their day-to-day responsibilities with support from colleagues who serve as instructors and mentors throughout the 10-week engagement. The program also includes social and educational events designed to support professional development and networking. Summer Analysts receive formal performance reviews to help maximize their experience.

Summer Analysts work on projects involving research, analysis, and recommendations. They are encouraged to think creatively, offer their perspectives, and add value to the team from day one. All Summer Analysts are expected to pursue their projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and the highest levels of integrity.

Successful Jefferies Summer Analysts are able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, client management skills, and strong technical, written, and verbal communication abilities.

Equity Research Summer Analyst Responsibilities

As part of the Equity Research division, Summer Analysts typically:

• Support senior analysts in building, maintaining, and analyzing financial models to evaluate company fundamentals and industry dynamics.
• Conduct data gathering and market research, including leveraging artificial intelligence tools to produce faster, higher-quality insights, in support of investment views.
• Assist in drafting research reports, presentations, and thematic deep dives, using AI-enabled workflows to enhance clarity, speed, and analytical depth.
• Monitor company news flow, earnings results, and sector developments to keep research outputs timely, differentiated, and actionable.
• Conduct due diligence and research suppliers, vendors, customers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background with a minimum GPA of 3.6 or equivalent.
• Students in their penultimate year of university with an anticipated graduation date between October 2027 and July 2028 may apply to the Summer Analyst Program.
• For roles based in Singapore, proficiency in languages other than English may be beneficial.
• Although a background in accounting or finance can be helpful, Jefferies welcomes candidates from a wide range of academic disciplines, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The Equity Research team conducts fundamental research on companies across a broad range of industries. Summer Analysts work with a Senior Equity Research Analyst and participate in due diligence, financial modeling, research report writing, and other related duties.
