ING in Asia Pacific

ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. ING’s regional presence includes a 13% stake in Bank of Beijing (China) and a 30% stake in TMBThanachart Bank (Thailand).

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING’s Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, including all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services, and other support functions.

Department Overview

The Loan Distribution Group is an integral part of the wider Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) team at ING. The Loan Sales team within Loan Distribution Group is the face to the market for all transactions where loans and loan-based products are distributed to the wider investor community. These transactions include primary loan syndications and secondary loan sales.

The Loan Syndicate team, operating across three locations in Sydney, Hong Kong, and Singapore, supports the various ING product teams in obtaining financing mandates where the financing requirement is greater than ING’s capacity or willingness to provide on a standalone basis. The department’s transactions range from plain vanilla corporate loans to highly structured facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the intern is to support the activities of the more senior members of the Loan Distribution Group in Asia Pacific, including:

  • Assisting in the distribution of loans and loan-based products to APAC investors through the primary syndication or secondary selldown process
  • Providing comparative/analytical or marketing information for pitches
  • Coordinating and crafting pitching materials to win mandates
  • Maintaining KYC/CDD requirements as per global ING standards
  • Assisting with organising and coordinating local and overseas roadshows for Lender Presentations
  • Drafting transaction teasers and information memoranda
  • Assisting in timely reporting of internal income and pipeline information
  • Fulfilling other responsibilities as specified from time to time

Skills and Qualification Requirements

  • A curious, highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a desire to learn
  • An analytical mindset with a drive for problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and across teams, juggling multiple tasks at once
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of financial concepts and financial markets

Internship Details

This is a six-month full-time internship position starting from January 2027.
