ING also provides both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. Its regional presence includes strategic shareholdings in Bank of Beijing (China) and TMB (Thailand).

Singapore serves as the regional headquarters for ING’s Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia. This includes all WB business lines, such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending, Transaction Services, and other support functions.

Function Overview

ING offers internship opportunities across different departments and locations within its Wholesale Bank. This vacancy focuses on positions within the Product Control department.

Under Product Control, the team ensures that the balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) of trading and banking books of the Financial Markets are measured, controlled, and reported in accordance with accounting and reporting standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Singapore is the regional hub for ING, including product control and P&L reporting activities. Product Control controls and supports various Financial Markets desks, including rates, credits, FX, structured products, commodity, non-linear derivatives, and more. The internship would cover:

• Daily P&L reporting and analysis
• Working on ad hoc ongoing projects related to product control management
• Assisting the team lead in specific valuation and P&L analysis as and when required

The internship provides exposure to policies and procedures governing the desk, based on items including regulations, the bank’s risk management philosophy, and the current economic climate.

What We Ask of You (Skills & Specifications)

• Major in Finance or Accounting
• Major/minor in Data Analytics is a plus
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Sufficient knowledge of MS Excel, VBA, and coding
• Good time management and adaptability
