ING in Asia Pacific

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING’s Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services, and other support functions.

Debt Capital Markets Team

The Debt Capital Markets team assists APAC clients in structuring and raising debt financing through various bond instruments, across both investment grade and high yield bonds. The team provides access for sovereign, corporate, and financial institution bond issuers to a pool of global fixed income investors across Asia, Europe, and the US.

What would you be doing?

  • Provide analytical, research, and execution support to the Debt Capital Markets team for both external and internal client requirements.
  • Prepare client pitching materials, weekly primary market and pricing updates, and perform detailed analysis according to specific client needs.
  • Support live transactions and develop technical skills, including preparing internal approval memos, documentation, joint arrangers and legal coordination, marketing materials, syndicate coordination, and post-deal closing.
  • Support compliance and finance processes related to deal management and prepare internal strategy presentations as needed.

  • Solid background in accounting and finance.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple parties.
  • Strong motivation and ability to work well in a team.
  • Preference for candidates available for a 6-month internship.

What would you gain from this internship?

  • Daily exposure to global macroeconomic developments and the primary bond market (e.g., USD, EUR, and select local ASEAN currencies).
  • Practical and technical skills related to bond origination and execution, including use of the Bloomberg terminal and PitchBook preparation, as well as internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Collaboration with other banking functions such as sustainable finance, sector and in-country teams/relationship management, financial markets, corporate finance, legal, and risk management/compliance.
