Deutsche Bank Internship Program

Program name: Deutsche Bank Internship Programme
Division: Investment Bank: Company Research
Location: New York

About the Program

The Deutsche Bank Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll quickly build the confidence to take on real projects by learning firsthand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. You’ll be supported by colleagues across the business and begin to develop your professional network.

About the Division

Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and major industry sectors. We analyze relevant trends for the bank across financial markets, the economy, and society; highlight risks and opportunities; and act as a consultant to the bank, its clients, and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality, independent analysis and actively promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market, and social policy issues.

The Company Research & Sales team sits within Deutsche Bank Research and provides clients with detailed financial analysis and recommendations on whether to buy, hold, or sell an equity investment. You will assist asset managers in deciding which stocks to invest in within specific sectors. This involves formulating stock and sector-level investment theses, ongoing authoring and production of written research to support investment views, and marketing those views to internal and external clients. You will leverage relationships with companies under coverage as part of channel checks and due diligence efforts, while also organizing ad hoc roadshows, client events, and conferences.

About the Role

Upon joining the Bank, you will begin a training curriculum that starts with a regional orientation, followed by professional skills training and technical financial training.

Working on day-to-day business activities as well as stand-alone research projects, you will contribute to developing new ideas to help clients achieve their financial goals. Projects you work on will require strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, an instinct for identifying trends and new developments, and the ability to work independently. You will benefit from intensive mentoring and structured feedback.

From day one, you will be exposed to real market issues impacting companies. You will also contribute to research publications and be involved in the creation of investment strategies, tools, or models. Your learning curve will be steep, but you will have plenty of support and guidance from managers and mentors. The specific tasks you handle will depend on your role within the team.

What We Look For

We recruit students and graduates who are intelligent and adaptable, with excellent communication skills. Degrees may be in many different disciplines.

Strong candidates will:

  • Demonstrate an interest in equity research, investment, and the markets.
  • Be proactive, curious, and diligent in completing assignments, with a willingness to learn and take feedback.
  • Demonstrate the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

  • Complete your studies (all final exams and coursework, with no outstanding requirements for graduation) between 1 December 2027 and 31 July 2028.
  • At this time, Deutsche Bank will only consider applicants who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Deutsche Bank, now or in the future, to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
