Job Summary

With the help of the internship supervisor, you will conduct validation study topics within the model validation team. This team is essential to ensure the viability, robustness, and reliability of FO pricing models before they are used for production purposes. You will support the validation of new FO models/methodologies and methodological changes by analyzing assumptions and proposed approaches to verify their theoretical relevance, and by performing tests to assess implementation and model behavior in terms of robustness and reliability.

Where possible—particularly for important pricing models—the team re-implements models in its internal library covering all asset classes (IR, FX, Hybrid, equity, XVA, credit). The study is expected to challenge all aspects of the methodology and its numerical implementation. You will also collaborate closely with the FO Research team and Trading desk on topics related to models and methodologies, and provide technical support to the RM team on model/methodology issues, particularly in relation to various risk reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • In accordance with FO model validation requests, organize and conduct the validation study with the internship supervisor.
  • When needed, conduct ad hoc analysis for risk methodologies and provide technical support to RM teams.
  • Contribute to the team’s internal library for pricing and XVA models/methods.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal Compliance requirements, including the London Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time.
  • Meet Financial Security requirements, including the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud and related reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to be fully qualified to undertake the role.
  • Complete all mandatory training required to attain and maintain competence.

Candidate Criteria

  • Education: Master’s degree level in Financial mathematics or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in mathematical finance.
  • Technical knowledge: Familiarity with stochastic calculus (Brownian motion, Itô Lemma, numeraire change) and relevant numerical methods (Monte Carlo, PDE resolution, asymptotic analysis).
  • Programming: Basic programming skills required to implement models.
  • Experience/skills: Analytical, innovative, planning, team working, and independence.
  • Additional technical skills: Knowledge/experience in C++ programming and ability to code in a common library project.
  • Languages: English.

Additional Information

Your work contributes to a social responsibility and sustainable future. You may extend your impact through the Charities Committee, which provides annual paid volunteering leave. Crédit Agricole CIB also offers development opportunities across the Crédit Agricole Group, structured mentoring, cross-functional projects, and a culture built on trust, autonomy, and empowerment. Diversity is supported through the SPRING Diversity network, and social connection is encouraged through the Sports and Social Club.
