Technology Internship

ING Americas Tech is the support backbone and catalyst for new and innovative solutions that drive growth for both internal and external customers. The team brings technical expertise and business knowledge together to support a wide range of products across industries including media and telecoms (TMT), utilities power and renewables, natural resources, food and agribusiness, real estate, and infrastructure—along with financial product specialists across areas such as industry lending, corporate finance, debt capital, commodity and export financing, sustainable finance, and more.

ING is seeking dynamic, eager interns for the following New York Technology department:

Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering & Quality Assurance

This team is responsible for the operations, maintenance, security, and development of the infrastructure components underlying business applications, including network, databases, and server components. Engineers focus on maintaining and improving reliability and quality for Americas applications and services. The intern will assist with day-to-day operations and contribute to projects.

Typical work may include:

• Pursue and apply methods to verify and improve the Americas asset inventory (CMDB) and dependency chains.
• Become familiar with ING Agile Way of Working and Microsoft Azure Boards to participate in sprint ceremonies and productivity measurements.
• Gather incident ticket statistics and prepare trend reports.
• Collect artifacts and prepare documents to evidence effective risk controls.

Profile (What We’re Looking For)

• Undergraduate student graduating in 2028, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
• Graduate students may also be considered for certain roles.
• Liberal arts majors interested in careers in finance and banking are welcome to apply.

Experience / Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of computers and networks required.
• Programming skills helpful, particularly Python, PowerShell, and GitHub.

Competencies

• Strong organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
• Attendance in the office as needed and at least one day per week.

Compensation & Internship Details

• Hourly Rate: $35/hour
• Status: Full-time; Paid (Seasonal)
• Start Date: June 2027 (10-week Summer Internship)

International Talent Program (ITP) Transition

If offered a full-time opportunity following the internship, the role will transition into ING’s International Talent Program (ITP). The ITP is an 18-month global traineeship designed to accelerate development and broaden exposure across the organization. You will complete three structured rotations in different business areas—two in NYC and one abroad—building a broad skill set and an internal network. After successfully completing the program, you will move into a permanent role aligned to your strengths, interests, and performance.
