About the position & department

The COO Wholesale Banking (WB) Americas team is accountable for defining and executing the strategy for Operations, aligned with both the global WB COO and established regional business objectives. The department’s goal is to optimize productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency for all Wholesale Bank clients within the US remit.

The COO Domain enables delivery of all Wholesale Bank products, including Lending Services, Financial Markets, and Capital Markets. WB COO Americas consists of Client Service Delivery, Operational Design, Control & Resilience, Regional Data Office, and Financial Crime Prevention functions, with multiple functional reporting lines to the global COO and a hierarchical line to WB Americas.

Responsibilities

• Meet with members of the COO management team to understand the role of the COO Department in the organization, the products supported, and the systems and tools used to deliver services to clients.
• Work within an exciting role in the COO Department to enhance processes and the control environment, and to help develop procedures and guidelines.
• Support efforts to meet regulatory requirements and deliver high-quality service to clients.
• Collaborate with various teams to gain experience and make a meaningful impact.

Profile (What we’re looking for)

• Undergraduate college student graduating in 2028, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field. Graduate students may also be considered for certain roles.
• Liberal arts majors interested in careers in finance and banking are welcome to apply.

Experience / Knowledge

• Knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Compensation & employment details

• Hourly Rate: $35/hour
• Status: Full-time; Paid (Seasonal)
• Start Date: June 2027 (10-week summer internship)
