Role details

Business Overview

BNP Paribas is seeking a motivated analyst to join our Debt Syndicate team. The successful candidate will support the origination and execution of investment-grade syndicated loan and US private placement (USPP) bond financings. You will work closely with relationship bankers, capital markets, legal, and operations teams to deliver financing solutions for corporate and financial sponsor clients across the globe.

The US Private Placement (USPP) market is a subset of global debt capital markets, built on a deep pool of predominantly illiquid fixed income capital. Because these securities are illiquid and generally held to maturity (buy-and-hold), they require unique documentation and marketing. The market attracts issuers worldwide, including corporates, infrastructure, renewables, REITs, aviation, and financial institutions. The US Private Placement team in New York includes three dedicated professionals responsible for syndication and distribution of these transactions.

The IG Loan Syndicate team is part of BNP Paribas’ Corporate & Institutional Banking division and is responsible for all investment-grade loan underwriting decisions, with a focus on lead-arranged, active bookrunner roles. The team has executed left-lead bookrunner deals ranging from sub-$100 million to multi-billion dollar benchmark issuances for domestic and international issuers. Working with origination teams, the group focuses on transaction structure and pricing to support marketability.

  • Leadership and Collaboration: Creates trust with colleagues; acts in a leadership capacity for projects, processes, or programs.
  • Client, Customer and Stakeholder Focus: Builds relationships with a mix of colleagues and clients; interacts regularly with management and department leaders; influences stakeholders at the team level.
