What you will do

CAO Intern

Provide business support to the HK-based CAO offices (Local and Regional) and support organization and governance topics, including coordination of in/outsourcing arrangements, procurement contract arrangements, expenses payments, and other general corporate governance activities. You will also support transversal projects.

  • Outsourcing / insourcing governance: Coordinate outsourcing and insourcing arrangements, manage authorized delegations, update and monitor Service Level Agreements, and ensure outsourced process owners follow outsourcing procedures and ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Record keeping: Maintain records of outsourced/insourced activities, including Service Level Agreements and supporting documents (e.g., in shared folders, SharePoint, 360 Arrangement, ARGOS V2).
  • Outsourcing controls: Conduct and coordinate 1LoD and 2LoD Outsourcing controls (GCL).
  • Procurement and vendor contract monitoring: Ensure required procurement documents are received and properly recorded; maintain clear mapping of vendor contracts and ensure contracts and supporting documents are properly stored (e.g., in shared folders, ARIBA).
  • Vault management support: Support vault management (register of vault key/pin, pin updates, etc.).
  • Expense monitoring: Provide administrative support related to invoice payments.
  • Expense control framework: Support implementation of a control framework for direct and indirect expenses, including monitoring year-to-date expenses and intercompany recharges against budgets and other agreed amounts, and ensuring payments are approved by the appropriate business partners.
  • General corporate governance & administration: Keep SharePoint sites up to date so information and supporting documents for responsible matters are accessible and retrievable. Support review and implementation of transversal procedures, and assist with other CAO office projects.

Client Delivery Intern

Be integrated into the Hong Kong Client Delivery Team of Securities Services and support a variety of tasks, including:

  • Support the COO / Head of Client Delivery with responsibilities such as presentation preparation, headcount analysis, and meeting arrangements.
  • Support Alternatives & Fund Services Operations, including onboarding support for new business.
  • Assist with setting up report schedulers, pricing matrix, and fund fact sheets based on fund prospectus.
  • Coordinate updates to client service level agreements with operation team leads and the client services team.
  • Participate in efficiency or organizational projects, including new system rollouts, specifically in the Hedge Funds Investor Services department.

Client Development Intern

  • Work closely with Sales support to prepare new and existing client due diligence slides and related materials.
  • Partner with Sales and Relationship Managers in client-facing meetings, follow-ups, and reporting.
  • Assist the local Sales and RM team with deals and pipeline updates and reporting using Client Vision.
  • Support logistics for internal and external meetings, presentations, and RFPs; manage invitations and responses for client events in liaison with Global Markets and senior bankers.
  • Manage distribution of mass client communications and marketing materials.
  • Support regional forums/meetings with stakeholders (e.g., Client Development meetings), including preparation of decks and liaison with offshore BP2S offices.
  • Support Relationship Managers with client onboarding and recertification (KYC) due diligence, and with billing setup and prioritization for invoicing.
  • Support legal document execution by completing signature request forms.
  • Support Client Development governance controls oversight and related projects, and participate in formulating key strategic client account plans.
  • Drive and facilitate Business Acceptance Committee (BAC) approval meetings, including quality control of BAC forms, minutes, and related documents for BAC requests for Singapore as booking centre, supporting all regional buying locations in Asia (including Hong Kong, Japan, China, and Korea). Liaise and coordinate with Sales/Relationship Managers in North and South Asia.
  • Support ad hoc tasks on operational issues and data reconciliation from the Central team.

FI&C Client Line and Alternatives Investor Client Line Intern

Support the FI&C Client Line and Alternatives Investor Client Line APAC teams in strategic analysis and product development. For the FI&C Client Line:

  • Support market, client, and competitor analyses.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, pricing, and pitch materials.
  • Contribute to strategic notes, dashboards, and management presentations.
  • Coordinate with Coverage, Operations, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams on topics/projects.
  • Track regional initiatives and regional action plans.

For the Alternatives Investor Client Line:

  • Assist in implementing the business plan aligned with the regional AI model.
  • Support Business Development and Alternatives Management in implementing the new target operating model.
  • Support Product Managers, the Regional Head of Private Capital, and the Head of APAC AI Client Line in preparing for services and marketing efforts (e.g., sales pitch books, marketing materials, presentations, and event preparations).
  • Assist with preparation of engagements for Regional and Global management committee meetings.
  • Follow product procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Develop expertise in products and services.
  • Work with product owners to create strategies to increase adoption and improve product alignment.
  • Detect trends and build training in coordination with Product.
  • Act as focal point/liaison for Product team inquiries and issues, taking appropriate action to respond or correct.

Sustainable Finance Intern

  • Support the Head of Sustainable Finance APAC, the APAC digital asset lead, and the Hong Kong Chief of Staff.
  • Assist the Head of Sustainable Finance APAC in driving the sustainable finance agenda across the region.
  • Support development and execution of the Sustainable Finance strategy across Asia Pacific.
  • Conduct market intelligence and research on sustainability trends, regulations, industry initiatives, and ESG best practices.
  • Assist engagements with financial institutions and other stakeholders on sustainability journeys (e.g., sustainable investing, climate, biodiversity, and responsible business practices).
  • Contribute to development and enhancement of BNP Paribas Securities Services’ ESG and sustainable finance product offering.
  • Prepare client materials, presentations, market analyses, and thought leadership content on sustainable finance topics.
  • Support internal awareness initiatives and strategic projects related to sustainability and responsible business practices.

The internship provides exposure to a broad range of sustainable finance topics and the opportunity to take ownership of specific projects contributing to BNP Paribas’ sustainability ambitions across APAC.

Digital Assets Intern (APAC)

  • Support the APAC Digital Assets lead and contribute to developing BNP Paribas Securities Services’ capabilities in this rapidly evolving space.
  • Act as a central point for market intelligence by monitoring developments across digital assets, tokenisation, digital cash, blockchain infrastructure, and regulation.
  • Conduct research on market trends, industry participants, emerging technologies, and competitive developments.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and transformation of post-trade and securities servicing activities.
  • Assist in preparing internal briefings, presentations, and analysis for senior management and clients.
  • Identify opportunities and implications for financial institutions from adopting digital assets and blockchain-based market infrastructure.
  • Support engagement with internal and external stakeholders involved in digital asset initiatives.

Chief of Staff (Location) Support

  • Support the preparation and execution of quarterly reports (Excel or PowerPoint) related to staff training, travel and expenses follow-up, and holidays for Executive Management.
  • Support maintenance of the governance document for the entity (committees).
  • Provide overall general administrative management for the office, liaising with Procurement and Facilities.
  • Coordinate transversal topics under the leadership of the Chief of Staff (e.g., licensing and registration with HKMA for overseas staff coming to Hong Kong, and implementation of local KYS/KYX framework within the location).
  • Support well-being projects among Securities Services Hong Kong by proposing new ideas and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
