Internship Overview

Jefferies Investment Banking Interns gain insight into a global, client-focused investment bank and experience an entrepreneurial environment where employees can make an immediate impact and earn recognition.

Interns work closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals, providing exposure to the breadth of Jefferies’ investment banking products and leading industry expertise. The lean deal team structure offers hands-on experience and opportunities to build lasting personal and professional relationships with peers and senior bankers.

Interns perform fundamental analysis and research into companies and markets, and are encouraged to think creatively, provide input, and add value from day one. Interns are expected to pursue projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and the highest levels of integrity.

Summer Intern Responsibilities

Summer Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Performing financial valuation, discounted cash flow (DCF), and multiples-based analyses
• Building and using financial models
• Preparing pitchbooks and live deal materials, such as offering memorandums and prospectuses
• Conducting industry and product research
• Analyzing detailed corporate and financial information
• Participating in the execution of financings and M&A transactions

What We Look For in a Candidate

Jefferies seeks candidates eager to make an impact through real, hands-on work and involvement on active deal teams. Successful Summer Interns are able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism and client management skills, along with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.

The work is fast-paced, challenging, and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, adapt quickly, and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background
• In your penultimate year of study
• Anticipated graduation date: Spring/Summer 2028
• A background in accounting or finance can be helpful, though Summer Interns are hired from a variety of degree disciplines
