Position Description

Investment Banking Operations provides business management support to the investment banking business globally, supporting Sector Coverage, Equity Capital Markets, Equity-linked Products, Merger & Acquisition and Debt Financing. This business management role serves as a business contact and interacts with other front office departments and support functions, including Legal & Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, IT, and Human Resources across all regions (nine offices in total in APAC and Europe), as well as with the Investment Banking Department at CITIC Securities.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Work with the Investment Banking COO, the Investment Banking business management team, and the investment bankers in daily operations
  • Assist the investment banking team to develop business plans, strategies, and manage lines of business within Investment Banking
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with counterparts within and outside of Investment Banking, including the Investment Banking management team, Legal & Compliance, Communications, Finance, IT, Institutional Equities, Fixed Income, and Equity Derivatives
  • Have a strong interest in the financial market and strong numerical sense
  • Develop management reports and help prepare management presentations as needed
  • Manage the end-to-end internal process for investment banking transactions
  • Be responsible for the administration of the Client Relationship Management System and Project Management System
  • Help review and improve day-to-day processes by identifying efficiencies, supporting procedural updates, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in Front Office operations
  • Analytically minded
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Internship experience with relevant knowledge of Capital Markets and Investment Banking is preferable
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is a plus
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
