About the Team

As a Technical Program Management Intern, you’ll learn how to determine the what, how, and why to define when—and how to operate across tools (and beyond them) to drive execution of a delivery plan for your program. The organization focuses on higher predictability and more efficient delivery that creates more value for customers.

Intern placement opportunities may include Technology Strategy & Transformation, Network Gateway Engineering, Decision Management Platform, Open Banking Global Operations, Mainframe and Operations, and Global Market Technology.

About the Role

Technical Program Managers conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work across the portfolio within Mastercard’s scrum execution model.

  • Contribute to strategies, design choices, and execution plans needed to deliver high-profile new features and capabilities for customers.
  • Dive into the tech stack, integration patterns, organizational capabilities, and company assets to develop technical solutions to customer problems.
  • Drive execution of features across the full stack or manage projects spanning multiple teams and integrations.
  • Report meaningful status along the way.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
  • Ideally studying engineering management, information systems, finance, analytics, business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with autonomy, strong ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven track record of data-driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships, partner with, and influence stakeholders across the organization.
  • Strong interest in technology, especially through a data-driven lens.
  • Experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering in agile models (e.g., Jira, scrum, Kanban) is a plus.
  • Not eligible for work authorization sponsorship. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, now as well as in the future, without employer sponsorship (for example, students or recent graduates in the United States on an F1 visa, including CPT or OPT authorization, are not eligible).

Compensation

$27–34/hr
