Summer College Internship Program

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be integrated into our company. College interns work on meaningful projects and are mentored by their respective managers throughout the summer. This program includes development workshops focused on key business concepts.

Interns may work within specialized tracks such as Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical or non-technical degree programs.

Program Details

  • This is a paid, 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
  • Interns may be assigned to either a technical or non-technical area.
  • Development workshops are provided to aid the transition from academia to the corporate environment.
  • Housing is not provided as part of the program.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Specific duties will vary based on assignment; divisional callouts are listed below.
  • The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise Records and Information Management (RIM) initiatives. Key responsibilities may include assisting with the operationalization of retention policies across SharePoint sites, supporting Information Enterprise Repository (IER) content ingestion, and participating in RIM program governance and oversight.
  • Additional opportunities include supporting operational reviews, developing training and awareness materials, assisting with file migration efforts, creating team communications, documenting procedures, and helping track program metrics and compliance activities. Through these projects, the intern will gain exposure to records management, information governance, Microsoft 365, data lifecycle management, and organizational change management practices.
  • Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
  • Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
  • Performs a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
  • Creates and delivers presentations upon completion of the internship.
  • Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the company’s mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and embodying the organizational values.
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects member privacy in accordance with company policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Information Systems, Information Science, or Business (e.g., Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.); Computing Sciences & Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.); or Mathematics & Data Science (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, etc.), or similar program(s).
  • Preferred Experience (but not required): Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, project work, documentation, training development, process improvement, and student leadership activities is desirable. Candidates should have an interest in information governance, records management, data lifecycle management, compliance, and emerging areas such as AI governance and digital transformation.
  • Must possess a High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
  • Must maintain good academic standing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all company levels.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and establish positive working relationships with peers.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Possesses a proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively within intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation and EEO Information

Compensation Range: Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00.

The salary range indicated represents the minimum and maximum range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects only one component of the total rewards package. Other components may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
