Summer College Internship Program

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience offering undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and become part of our company. Interns work on meaningful projects, receive mentorship from their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the summer. Through this program, interns attend development workshops focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within skills-based tracks including Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical or technical degree programs.

Program Details

  • This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
  • Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area.
  • Development workshops are provided to assist with the transition from academia to the corporate environment.
  • Housing is not provided as part of this program.

Essential Accountabilities

Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.

  • Model Audit Rule Control Testing, MAR Process Narrative Tracking and Review, MAR Balance Sheet Review, and Mapping Analysis (Operational Audit).
  • Attend Operational Audit Planning Meetings, support the Auditor in Charge with Operational Audit Controls and Substantive Testing, and participate in Entrance and Exit Meetings.
  • Assist with Policy tracking and uploading policies to Logic Gate.
  • Attend Quarterly CPC Meetings, if available.
  • Update and generate the Audit Dashboard using Power BI.
  • Assist with the creation of the External Auditor Status Document.
  • Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
  • Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
  • Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
  • Create and deliver presentations upon completion of the internship.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and aligning with the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with company policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Business & Management (e.g., Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.); Computing Sciences & Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.), Management Information Systems, or similar programs.
  • Preferred (but not required) Experience: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, strong communication skills, being a self-starter, ability to work independently, and experience using Power BI, ACL, SAS R, Python, or other data analysis and coding tools.
  • Possession of a High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all company levels.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail in a changing environment and delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation and EEO

Compensation Range: Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The salary range indicated reflects the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, budget availability, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education related to the minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted range is one component of our total rewards package, which may also include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, a retirement plan, wellness programs, paid time off, and paid holidays.
