Job Summary

Technical Operator at Guardian Glass in Geneva, NY. You will learn and train to independently support the glass production process specific to Hot End Operations. Operate and troubleshoot equipment to support production efficiency and ensure quality glass that meets customer needs. Work with the Control Room Operators and Process Team to maintain and improve the Float Glass Process. Requires rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Guardian Geneva is a tobacco-free facility; vaping is not allowed on the property. Pay starts at $26–$32 per hour based on experience, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 6 months. Shifts rotate between 6:45am–7:00pm and 6:45pm–7:00am.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a safe work environment by wearing proper PPE, following safe work practices, and communicating safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Embrace and manage change to drive process improvements.
• Contribute to setting team goals and manage assignments effectively.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Perform tasks such as lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, and standing in a non-climate-controlled environment for up to 12 hours per day.
• Operate, monitor, and control processes; troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain assets, including using masonry mud and RTV sealant.
• Respond to alarms and participate in some emergency responses.
• Perform quality checks and inspections; maintain process assets and move between tasks.
• Work in and around heat for periods of time.
• Maintain constant communication with the team and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
• Support asset repair projects with the Process Team.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience using a computer and familiarity with technology.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Experience working independently and/or with minimal supervision.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Shift & Schedule

Rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Shifts rotate between 6:45am–7:00pm and 6:45pm–7:00am.

Compensation & Benefits
