Summer College Internship Program

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns have the opportunity to participate in development workshops, network with company staff, and contribute to meaningful projects while receiving mentorship from their managers throughout the summer.

Interns can work within several specialized tracks, including Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical or non-technical degree programs.

Program Details

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to aid the transition from academic study to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of this program.

Essential Accountabilities

Specific duties will vary based on the assignment; divisional callouts are detailed below.

• Focus on measuring business analytics across digital platforms and assets, including forecasting engagement trends and benchmarking metrics against industry standards.
• Involve in technology research within the healthcare space and evaluate how market trends impact satisfaction with our digital assets.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify target segments for digital adoption and engagement goals, performing regular analysis of digital adopters by variables such as device usage, age band, product line, and brand.
• Work under the guidance of a mentor to support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments according to business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
• Create and deliver presentations upon the completion of the internship.

• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Minimum Qualifications

Desired Majors/Degree Programs

• Business & Management (e.g., Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management).
• Mathematics & Data Science (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science).
• Business Analytics or a similar program.

Experience and Skills

• Proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program, accompanied by a High School diploma.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at all company levels.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.
• Proven ability to work well in a team and establish positive working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, demonstrating creativity and flexibility in task completion.
• Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team function.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively across departments as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and using a desktop computer in a professional setting.

Preferred Skills (Not Required): Experience with Google Analytics and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region as required for meetings and/or training courses.

Compensation and EEO

Compensation Range (Level I): Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The stated salary range reflects the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary is dependent on factors including budget, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education related to minimum qualifications, as well as internal equity. This range represents only one component of the total rewards package, which may include health/dental insurance, a retirement plan, wellness programs, paid time off, and paid holidays.
