Summer College Internship Program

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. Our interns work on meaningful projects, receive mentorship from their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the summer. Participants can attend development workshops focused on key business concepts and may work within various skills-based tracks, including Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical or non-technical degree programs.

Internship Details

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to assist with the transition from academia to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of the program.

Essential Accountabilities

• Specific duties will vary by assignment; detailed divisional callouts are available below.
• The Cyber Defense Services Internship includes a primary project tailored to the intern’s interests, along with opportunities to shadow the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Cyber Threat Assessment teams. Interns will observe and participate in various defensive and offensive cybersecurity activities, gaining hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations, coordination, and management of these teams.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects.
• Create and deliver a presentation upon completion of the internship.

Minimum Qualifications

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs: Computing Sciences & Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.), Information Security, Digital Forensics, or similar programs.
• Preferred Experience (Not Required): Cybersecurity, Threat Hunting, Offensive Security, Vulnerability Management, Security Operations Center (SOC) Operations, and Security Engineering.
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all company levels.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail to deliver high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation and EEO Information

Compensation Range

Level I: Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00.

The salary range indicated represents the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, budget availability, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted range reflects one component of the total rewards package, which may include group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
