Summer College Internship Program

This is a paid 10-week internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. The program offers opportunities to attend development workshops, network, and contribute to meaningful company projects while receiving mentorship from assigned managers.

Interns can work within various skills-based tracks, including, but not limited to: Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical or technical degree programs.

Internship Details

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to facilitate the transition from academia to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of this program.

Essential Accountabilities

Specific duties will vary based on the assignment; divisional callouts are provided below.

• Collaborate with the Wellbeing Team to enhance services for Commercial Customers, including groups, brokers, and members. This may involve creating or updating healthy challenges/campaigns, developing healthy workshop offerings for groups, or creating employer guides for workplace wellbeing programs.
• Assist in growing the portfolio of resources brought to market by creating or updating necessary materials.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
• Create and deliver a final presentation upon completion of the internship.
• Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the company's mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and upholding Lifetime Way beliefs.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Majors/Degree Programs

• Public Health, Health Education or Promotion, Exercise Science, Nutrition, Social Work, Health & Society, or similar programs.

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

Familiarity with the following areas is preferred:

• Health Promotion & Education.
• Public Health Principles: Knowledge of population health, epidemiology, and social determinants of health.
• Technology Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Data Analysis & Evaluation: Ability to use surveys and health metrics to assess program effectiveness.
• Nutrition, Fitness, and Mental Health: Basic knowledge of lifestyle medicine and holistic wellness approaches.

General Requirements

• High School diploma along with proof of continuous, full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical audiences at all company levels.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation and EOE

Compensation Range(s): Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The indicated salary range represents the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary is dependent on factors including budget, prior experience, knowledge, skill, education, and internal equity. This range is one component of the total rewards package, which may include health/dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, paid time off, and paid holidays.
