Summer College Internship Program
The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship providing undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and become part of our company. College interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored by their managers, and continue to develop throughout the summer. Interns can participate in development workshops focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical degree programs.
Program Details
- This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
- Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area.
- Development workshops are provided to assist with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
- Housing is not provided as part of the program.
Essential Accountabilities
- Specific duties vary by assignment; specific divisional details are listed below.
- The Operations Analyst Intern will support the Population Health Enterprise (PHE) Operations & Optimization team in advancing strategic initiatives focused on healthcare affordability, operational excellence, process improvement, performance reporting, and organizational effectiveness. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with operational leaders, data analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders while contributing to projects that directly impact quality, cost, and member outcomes. The internship offers exposure to healthcare operations, business intelligence, analytics, process improvement methodologies, executive reporting, and enterprise project management.
- Works with a mentor to support key strategic projects.
- Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
- Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects.
- Creates and delivers presentations upon completion of the internship.

- Maintains confidentiality and protects member privacy in accordance with company policies.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Majors/Degree Programs
- Healthcare Administration
- Public Health
- Business Administration
- Business or Data Analytics
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Operations & Supply Chain Management
- Project Management or similar programs
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Basic data management and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint, or Teams
- SQL or database fundamentals
- Data analysis and interpretation skills
- Experience creating presentations and executive summaries
General Requirements
- High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all company levels.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work well in a team and establish positive working relationships with peers.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Proactive work approach, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
- Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation Range
Level I: Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
