Internship Opportunity

Applications are open for the 1H 2027 internship, including the summer internship from May 27 to July 27.

What You Will Do

Through our internship program, you will gain first-hand experience with an industry leader in the refining and petrochemical industry. Your work, and that of the teams, contributes to the growth and future of our business as we provide energy, sustainable products, and solutions for society. You will also gain valuable experience and contribute to the dynamic world of commodity trading. You will work closely with experienced Trading Analysts and learn about the intricacies of the oil market. Your primary responsibility is to assist the AP Trading Analytic Team in analyzing market data, conducting market studies, and supporting ad hoc trading activities.

Your internship will be assessed, including a formal final review of project delivery and performance by your supervisor. You will also be asked to prepare a final presentation and/or provide a report on your project/work achieved. You can look forward to the following during your time with us:

• Data Management: Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date trading data, ensuring its availability for analysis and reporting. This includes refinery outages, expansions, closures, and country statistics such as demand and supply.
• Trading Reports: Prepare weekly reports on refinery outages, country inventory, and other relevant trading data for the trading team.
• Research and Reporting: Conduct ad-hoc analyses and prepare reports on specific market trends and other relevant factors to assist in decision-making.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for our Internship Program, you should be:

• Preferably in your penultimate year of study.
• Hold a degree in any Engineering field, Computational Science, Data Analytics, Statistics/Mathematics, or Business/Accounting.
• Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills to interpret market data.
• Have excellent attention to detail for accurate analysis.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and other trading functions.
• Be proficient in Excel and programming, including spreadsheet uses, data analysis using Excel and Power BI, and competent programming in Python.
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
