About Our Team

Our Global Markets team services financial institutions, corporates, governments, asset managers, and hedge funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in equity and fixed income securities, including currencies, interest rates, and credit in cash, derivatives, and structured products.

About the Program

As part of our Graduate Internship program, you will gain first-hand experience and insights into a career in markets. You will have the opportunity to experience our culture, receive valuable on-the-job training, and expand your network. The Graduate Internship is a key pipeline for our Graduate Analyst Program in Asia.

The Graduate Internship will start around February 2027 and run for nine weeks in our Hong Kong office. You will be provided with an orientation, followed by ongoing training on the desk. You will join one of the Global Markets teams—Sales, Structuring, Trading, or Research—to gain a meaningful experience and develop through diverse responsibilities throughout the program.

Team Opportunities and Responsibilities

Sales

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, including pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies, and other corporate clients.

Trading

  • Assisting the trading desk in buying and selling securities on behalf of clients or the firm.
  • Contributing to market making and capital commitment activities.

Structuring

  • Designing and developing innovative products and strategies for Nomura’s clients in partnership with the trading function.
  • Creating a risk management strategy for structured transactions.
  • Working with Sales to create a marketing strategy for Nomura’s products.

Research

  • Collecting, analyzing, and assessing industry and company information to assist research analysts with market insight and investment ideas for institutional investors and internal clients.

About You

Eligibility

  • We welcome diversity in our teams and encourage students from all backgrounds and disciplines to apply.
  • Candidates must be in their final year of study.
  • Candidates must be available to commit for the entire duration of the Graduate Internship (February to April 2027) and be able to commence the Graduate Analyst Program by July 2027.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Additional Asian language skills are a value-add.
