Job Profile Summary

We offer different internship opportunities across various departments and locations within our Wholesale bank. This vacancy focuses on positions within the FM Product Control function.

Product control is critical to safeguarding financial integrity and regulatory compliance, managing operational risks, and enabling informed decision-making across trading activities. Under Product Control, the team ensures that the valuation of financial instruments, balance sheet, and profit and loss of trading and banking books within Financial Markets are measured, controlled, and reported in accordance with IFRS accounting and regulatory standards.

What You Will Be Doing

Singapore is the regional hub for ING, including for product control activities. There are several Financial Markets desks controlled/supported by Product Control, including Rates, Credit, FX, Commodities, Structured products, and Non-linear derivatives. The internship would cover:

• Daily P&L reporting and risk-based P&L analysis in terms of market risk factors.
• Working on ad hoc ongoing projects related to product and valuation control.
• Assisting the team lead in specific valuation and P&L analysis as and when required.

You will gain exposure to the policies and procedures governing this desk, which are based on items such as SOX, audit, IFRS accounting standards, regulations, the bank’s risk management philosophy, and the current economic climate.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Major in Finance/Accounting and/or Quantitative Finance/Data analytics (a plus).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Sufficient knowledge of MS Excel.
• VBA/coding knowledge is a plus.
• Good time management and adaptability.
• Collaborative and proactive attitude.
