Internal Audit Overview

The Internal Audit team provides independent audit assurance on Nomura’s internal controls. Interns will participate in the audit process with a focus on inherent risk identification, internal control testing, continuous business risk monitoring, and issue follow-up.

About the Summer Analyst Program

The Summer Analyst Program runs for 10 weeks. Analysts will have extensive contact with Nomura professionals at all levels through discussion groups, seminars, and informal social functions. The program is an integral component of Nomura’s full-time recruiting and is not a rotational program.

Summer Analysts are expected to receive the same level of exposure as a first-year Analyst, with hands-on opportunities to participate as full members of the team. They should form effective working relationships and demonstrate commitment to the firm’s goals and values. During the internship, Summer Analysts work closely with a peer and interact regularly with a senior mentor.

• Participate in all phases of audit engagements (planning, fieldwork, and reporting).
• Conduct research using professional literature and industry resources.

• Support data analytics and testing procedures.
• Engage with business stakeholders during meetings and process walkthroughs.

• Present findings to audit leadership.

Requirements

• GPA of 3.2+.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (all majors considered, with preference for Accounting, Finance, Economics, or English).
• Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 at a college or university in the United States.
• No requirement for sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or in the future.

Salary

The intern position has a set base salary at an annualized rate of $70,000 per year. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
