Internship Overview

Credit Agricole CIB hosts a 10-week internship designed to provide students with relevant professional experience, networking opportunities with colleagues and senior employees, and deep insight into the investment banking (IB) industry.

This internship includes one structured week of technical and functional training, hands-on desk work, networking/educational events, and a formal evaluation process. Events will include an opening/closing reception, speaker series, community engagement, and general networking sessions. Interns will receive relevant work and case study material to enhance their skillset for a future in IB.

The Corporate and Leveraged Finance (CLF) Group, based in New York, is part of Crédit Agricole’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CACIB). CLF encompasses Corporate Origination Americas, which structures and distributes syndicated loans and bilateral facilities for the Americas, and The Leveraged, Acquisition and Telecom Finance Group (LATFG), which originates leveraged finance solutions through leveraged loans and high yield bonds.

CLF provides a full array of financing solutions for corporate clients and financial sponsors, originating, structuring, and distributing investment-grade and leveraged debt financings. This role offers the opportunity to support junior and senior bankers in deal execution across various platforms, from origination to closing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Corporate Origination and LATFG team members and management with day-to-day tasks focused on Loan and Bond Origination.
• Prepare presentation materials, including pitch books, information memoranda, and materials for institutional investors/lenders.
• Conduct financial analysis on companies, including ratio analysis, comparable company analysis, and financial modeling with projections.
• Assist in the preparation of transaction memorandums, credit analysis, and corporate credit ratings analysis.
• Craft clear and succinct written analysis of market trends and commentary.
• Maintain databases and market comparables.
• Review legal documentation and prepare Closing Memos.
• Collaborate with internal teams (credit, legal, relationship managers, operations, senior management) to ensure timely and accurate information gathering.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly new market updates.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

Minimal Qualifications:

• Must be a student in their penultimate (junior) year of study interested in a Finance career.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future visa sponsorship (F1, OPT, CPT).
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, initiative, excellent analytical and communication skills, superior organizational ability, and capacity to work under pressure.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Bloomberg.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of banking and capital markets is preferred.
• Relevant coursework in accounting, finance, or economics.
