AVP/Senior Associate, Assistant Portfolio Manager, Discretionary Portfolio Management, Private Banking, Consumer Banking Group

Key Accountabilities

Assist Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) Portfolio Managers in implementing strategies across DPM portfolios, addressing internal queries, and handling related matters.

Responsibilities

Trade-Related Activities

• Plan and place trades across several asset classes for all DPM clients in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform trade allocations and foreign exchange transactions to ensure trades are properly settled.

Account Opening, Maintenance, and Closing

• Ensure that accounts are correctly set up.
• Update investment and operating parameters upon receipt of client instructions in a timely manner.
• Perform account closures, including liquidation or transfer processes and settlement of outstanding fees.

Internal Queries

• Liaise with Assistant Relationship Managers and the Operations team on account opening and closure requirements, as well as other requests for information.

Secretarial and Administrative Support

• Maintain spreadsheets monitoring client portfolio activity, including asset allocation, tactical asset allocation checks, currency exposure, concentration risk, client restrictions, completed trades, and performance against long-term objectives.
• Maintain client records and follow up on outstanding documentation.
• Prepare account performance reviews.
• Coordinate investment meetings and take meeting minutes.
• Follow up on daily regulatory reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 1–2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of modern banking solutions and system architecture.
• Basic banking and operational knowledge.
• Knowledge of risk management, credit, operations, finance, compliance, and controls.
• Good understanding of financial and investment markets.
• Computer skills; knowledge of Excel macros is a plus.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think analytically and solve problems across multiple dimensions.
