2027 Guardian Summer Intern, Corporate Finance & Risk – Investment Risk Management
Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a global financial services company. You will gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, engage in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices.
Interns may have the opportunity to be considered for Guardian's Finance Leadership Development Program upon successful completion of the internship. We are seeking candidates who are curious, adaptable, and excited to gain exposure to different areas of the Finance and Risk organization.

You Are
- A current junior (graduation date of May 2028) fueled by collaboration
- Able to listen, make quick decisions, and thrive in a goal-oriented environment
You Have
Required Qualifications
- An interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk and a willingness to learn about different functions and career paths across the organization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in finance, investments, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, data analytics, or Gen AI tools is a plus
You Will
- Analyze investment portfolio exposures and risk metrics across fixed income, private credit, structured products, commercial real estate, and alternative investments
- Support portfolio monitoring, risk reporting, stress testing, and scenario analysis used by senior management and risk committees
- Conduct research on financial markets, emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends affecting insurance company investment portfolios
- Work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members who will coach you as you develop your professional career
- Learn about Guardian's purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offerings
- Build a network of colleagues and develop a sense of community with other interns and teams across the business
- Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and other information

Eligibility
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H-1B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
- You must be available for the full program dates of the internship.
Salary Range
$20.00 - $35.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
