2027 Summer Analyst – Risk Management

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is a premier investment bank that provides a focused set of products and services to institutions, corporations, governments, and high net worth clients in over 100 countries.

Interns will gain hands-on experience within RBC’s Risk function and receive career-building mentorship. Successful applicants will be recruited into London Risk teams across multiple areas suited to driven and focused students.

Programme Details

As a Summer Intern, you will be placed within a key area of the Risk function to gain insight into the responsibilities of a full-time Risk Analyst in areas such as Enterprise, Market, Credit, Counterparty, Liquidity, and Operational Risk. You will gain exposure to the operations of a major international investment bank and the hands-on experience needed to kick-start your career.

Learning from Experience

Throughout the programme, Summer Interns are given various projects to complete, which may include:

• Key research for new initiatives
• Supporting strategic projects
• Supporting the management and mitigation of risk
• Assisting with presentations
• Reporting on risk exposure to support senior management
• Collaborating across different teams and departments
• Supporting the area that keeps the firm functioning at industry-leading levels

Training and Development

You will be supported and developed throughout the programme, including:

• Classroom-based training covering commercial and industry knowledge
• Speaker Series: regular cross-division information sessions delivered by leading market professionals
• On-the-job training
• Buddy programme
• Networking and shadowing opportunities
• Social events with the wider 2027 Capital Markets cohort

You will receive mid- and end-of-summer reviews, along with constructive feedback from your manager throughout your placement.
